Martin Opršal
Martin Opršal is the boss of the Bílý koníček restaurant kitchen since 2009. He values our guests highly and his wish is to offer them pleasant and unique gastronomical experience.
Before his present engagement, he developed his potential, experience and skills in restaurants of Carlo IV Boscolo, Palace and other renowned hotels.
History and Today of Our Restaurant
Legendary youth club Bílý Koníček in one of the oldest houses at Old Town Square – U zlatého jednorožce, which hosted in the past e.g. Frank Zappa or Barbra Streisand, offers our guests unique musical and gastronomical experience.
Bílý koníček Jazz&Blues Lounge is one of the main stages of Prague musical scene. Every evening you can hear the concerts of renowned Czech and foreign jazz/blues bands here. Air-conditioned and – during the performance – nonsmoking space is provided by high-quality sound system which ensures extraordinary musical experience. Live concerts starts at 9p.m. and lasts till the midnight. You can order meals during the whole musical performance at Bílý koníček restaurant.
Resident band of the club – the band you cannot hear at any other place in Prague – is Alice Springs Blues Band. Based on his own choice, this extremely talented Czech musician and her band supported the last concert of B. B. King in Czech Republic. You can also hear Jirka Stivín Junior & NUNU, Marcel Flemr Band, Jonathan Gudet Sliding Blues, Andrew Lee Davison, Rajnošek Band and many others.
Since 1st November 2009, this spacious Romanesque cellar from 12th century which underwent very challenging, extensive and almost four years lasting reconstruction is the oldest space all over the world where you can hear live jazz and blues performances.
